Kenny Miller is a step closer to concluding his move to Bursaspor after the Turkish club agreed terms with the Rangers player. The striker, who flew to Turkey on Wednesday night, has agreed terms on a contract which is believed will pay in the region of £50,000 a week.

Rangers and Bursaspor are still in negotiations over a transfer fee for the Scotland international, who has scored 22 goals at club level this season. STV understands an agreement is close between both parties, although a final figure has yet to be settled.

A statement on www.bursaspor.org.tr confirmed that Miller was ready to put pen to paper. It read: "Kenny Miller today reached an agreement with Ozluce Tesisleri.

"The Rangers striker arrived by helicopter and met with Ozluce Tesisleri. The player will sign the official contract and you will be informed about the details later."

Miller’s future had been the subject of much speculation as the player was in the last year of his contract. Clubs in France and Italy were said to be interested in securing the player’s signature before Alex McLeish’s Birmingham City tabled an offer that was accepted by Rangers.



That bid was believed to be worth as much as £1.1 million to the Ibrox club if Birmingham remained in the English Premier League this season but Miller failed to agree personal terms. Fiorentina were thought to have discussed a contract with the player and Bursaspor entered the race.



Birmingham announced on Tuesday that they had been told by Miller’s representatives that Bursa had made an “irresistible” offer that the striker had accepted. That evening, the player was left out of Walter Smith’s squad for the SPL match against Inverness and the club announced they were allowing him to travel to Turkey while they tried to settle a fee with Bursaspor.
