 Bursa shoots itself in the foot with home loss
Away goals count double in European football and so it was incumbent upon the Bursa Green Crocs not to allow Anderlecht to score at Atatürk Stadium on Thursday, let alone win.
But the Crocs failed to do that as they were beaten 2-1 by the more experienced Belgian side. Scandal-linked Brazilian-Turkish leftie Gökçek Vederson converted a penalty in the 36th to give the Crocs a 1-0 lead at halftime. But two second-half goals by Anderlecht made things all the more difficult for the Crocs.
One foot in, one foot out: Elimination appears imminent for Ertuğrul Sağlam and his Green Crocs, who face the Herculean task of overturning Thursday's deficit in Belgium next week.
